Dr. Chad Pedersen is a highly regarded oncologist with an extensive background in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology. He understands the unique challenges of rural healthcare. His personal experience and professional expertise drive his mission to bring advanced cancer treatments and personalized care to Western North Dakota and Eastern Montana. With triple board certifications in oncology, hematology, and internal medicine, Dr. Pedersen delivers world-class expertise tailored to your unique journey. From diagnosis to recovery, our team provides comprehensive support every step of the way. Dr. Pedersen has Specialized Skills in: Chemotherapy administration including intrathecal and intraventricular (CNS) routes Bone marrow aspiration and biopsy with/without sedation Interpretation of peripheral blood smears Transfusion of all blood and factor products Born and raised in Sidney, Montana, Dr. Pedersen has strong family roots in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota, enriching his commitment to the rural way of life. He holds undergraduate degrees from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University and Montana State University and earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota. Dr. Pedersen completed residency at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he served as chief resident of a large residency program supervising 36 physicians-in-training. Currently serving as the president of the Montana State Oncology Society, Dr. Pedersen is excited to bring exceptional cancer care to Watford City. His dedication to patient care is reflected in his engagement with the local healthcare system, where he works to ensure rural residents access top-tier cancer treatments. Dr. Pedersen’s extensive background and outstanding patient care make him the right choice to lead the oncology department at McKenzie Health. Outside of medicine, Dr. Pedersen enjoys the outdoors having hiked the Appalachian Trail, a 2,200-mile-long footpath from Georgia to Maine in 2016. Additionally, he has ran multiple marathons.
